Proofreading is a vital step in the writing process. It flushes out typos and grammatical errors.
Proofreading is normally performed after editing. Both are valuable: editing aims to improve text or flow by rewriting entire passages and replacing words with better choices; proofreading is the final check where only small changes are made to fix any mistakes. A fresh pair of eyes reading text for the first time will find errors that the writer might never have noticed.
Proofreading, or proofing, is something I’m passionate about. From errant commas to spelling mistakes, your document will be squeaky clean after proofreading.
